easy homemade chicken potpie

This is one of my family's favorite things for me to cook. Hope you and your family also enjoy. Very easy to make

Ingredients

  • 1 medium store bought roasted chicken
  • 2 sticks carrots sliced
  • 2 - celery stalks sliced
  • 3 medium potatos diced
  • 1 1/2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 packages refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1/2-1 cup milk
  • 1/4 stick butter

How To Make easy homemade chicken potpie

  • Step 1
    Peel and dice potato and carrots and boil until soft drain and set aside
  • Step 2
    Open one package of pie crust to use as the bottom crust. place in oven safe pan and bake 5-10 minutes
  • Step 3
    Saute onions and celery until soft
  • Step 4
    Meanwhile take meat off of bone of chicken and chop into bite size pieces
  • Step 5
    Mix chicken, cream of chicken, peas and onion and celery mixture. Add potato's and carrots add milk to thin out soup. season with salt and pepper
  • Step 6
    Pour into cooked pie crust, cover with second pie crust, pinch edges, brush with melted butter and cut 3 slits on to.
  • Step 7
    Bake until center is hot and top is brown.
