easy foolproof cream pie or pudding

This is my mother's recipe. You can't over cook or scorch. Yummy and perfect every time. I thought with the holidays coming up it would be a good time to share. This is my "go to" recipe.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon butter
How To Make easy foolproof cream pie or pudding

Step 1Mix together sugar and cornstarch. Add 2 egg yolks and half the milk. Beat well. Add remaining milk. Gradually add 1 c. water. If you want a yellow filling add a drop or two of yellow food coloring.

Step 2Cook on full power for 3 minutes in the microwave. Remove and stir well. Return to the microwave for 3 more minutes.

Step 3Remove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon butter and stir to blend. If it is thicker than you want just add a tiny bit of milk till you get the consistency you want. Return to the microwave for one additional minute.
