easy apple dumplings

This is one dessert that I can't seem to make enough of. My family loves them. They are wonderful served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It's quick and easy too. You only use one apple to make the dessert shown on the left. It's also versatile. Use firm but ripe peaches or pears if you like....

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough
  • 1 medium tart apple, pared and cut into 8 wedges
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 cup orance juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

How To Make easy apple dumplings

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees: Open can of dough and separate into triangles. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl or cup. Melt butter. Dip a slice of apple into the butter and then into the cinnamon and sugar.. Place at the top of the triangle of dough where it is the widest and roll apple down into the dough. Fold in the sides. Make sure all of the apple is covered. Place into a 9x9 inch square pan. Continue until all apples are covered in dough. Mix the remaining butter, orange juice and brown sugar into the microwave and heat for 2 or three minutes. Pour on top of the dumplings. Bake in oven for 25 or 30 minutes. Remove from oven and spoon orange juice syrup on top of dumplings.
