Fast and easy sweet tooth fix! Out of this world! Super crowd pleaser! Comes from 12 Tomatoes web site. Will take photos in stages next time. (Definitely SOON!)

Ingredients

- 9x12 or smaller baking pan (depends on how deep you want it)
1 can crushed pineapple (not drained)
1 can cherry pie filling (or other fruit flavor)
1 box yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks butter
- chopped nuts (as desired)

How To Make dump cake

Step 1

Evenly spread all of the crushed pineapple in the pan.

Step 2

Evenly spread the cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple. I used a rubber spatula to scoop some from the can and then spread.
Step 3

Put cake mix in a bowl.
Step 4

Melt 1/2 stick of butter and mix with cake mix until it gets crumbly.
Step 5

Cut 1 stick of butter into slices. I used cold butter and sliced with a butter slicer I got years ago from a catalog. Place butter slices evenly on top of the crumbled cake mix.
Step 6

Sprinkle nuts on top (optional).
Step 7

Bake at 350 degrees on middle rack for 30-35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Check at 25 minutes first time to be sure of the timing for your oven.
Step 8

Let cool for 1 hour. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
