THE DERBY IS A KENTUCKY HOLIDAY. WE BRING OUR BEST AND MOST REQUESTED RECIPES OUT FOR OUR DERBY PARTIES. THIS IS A POPULAR ONE THAT IS ASKED FOR EACH YEAR. I USE CHOCOLATE OR CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES.

Ingredients

  • 7
    unbeaten egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    crushed chocolate cookies
  • 1 1/2 c
    roughly chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 c
    coconut, flaked
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1
    9 in pie crust( make it don't buy it)

How to Make DERBY DAY SAWDUST PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 325
  2. MIX ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER AND STIR BY HAND.POUR INTO UNBAKED PIE SHELL. BAKE UNTIL GLOSSY AND SET 25-30 MINUTES. DO NOT OVER BAKE.
  3. ENJOY!!
