Ingredients
- 1/2-1 cup sugar, depending on sweetness of berries
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups hulled strawberries
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 - pastry for single crust pie
- - cream, plain or whipped
How To Make deep-dish strawberry pie

Step 1Combine sugar with flour and salt.

Step 2Toss lightly with the berries.

Step 3Fill a 1-quart baking dish with the fruit mixture and dot with butter.

Step 4Top with the pastry which has been rolled out on pastry cloth to size 1\" larger all around than top of baking dish.

Step 5Fold edges of pastry under and press firmly to rim of dish.

Step 6Flute edges and cut gashes in pastry to allow steam to escape.

Step 7Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is browned.

Step 8Serve slightly warm with plain or whipped cream.
