Whenever you would ask my dad what he would like to have as a dessert, he would always say CHOCOLATE PIE, (you know, the kind my mother used to make). His mother was a fantastic cook and this is one of her recipes. It is simple and very quick to make.

Ingredients For dad's chocolate pie

1 c

white sugar
2 Tbsp

cornstarch
2 c

milk
1/4 tsp

salt
5 Tbsp

cocoa powder
2 Tbsp

butter
2

egg yolks, beaten
2 tsp

vanilla

How To Make dad's chocolate pie

Combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt in a medium saucepan.

Stir in the milk, cocoa powder and the (melted) butter. Blend well. Then add the egg yolks and vanilla.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and pour into a cooked crust.

Cover with meringue and brown in a preheated oven of 350 degrees. Cool on a rack until ready to be served.
