My dad and my husband absolutely love this pie.

Ingredients

  • 6 - eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired
  • 1 - unbaked 9 inch pie shell with high fluted edge

How To Make custard pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust. Spinkle top with a little bit of nutmeg.
  • Step 3
    Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set. Knife inserted near center comes out clean.
