Ingredients

  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg, if desired
  • 1
    unbaked 9 inch pie shell with high fluted edge

How to Make Custard Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust. Spinkle top with a little bit of nutmeg.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set. Knife inserted near center comes out clean.
