eggs
1 c
sugar
1/2 tsp
salt
2 c
milk
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg, if desired

unbaked 9 inch pie shell with high fluted edge

How to Make Custard Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
  • 2In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust. Spinkle top with a little bit of nutmeg.
  • 3Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set. Knife inserted near center comes out clean.
