Ingredients
- 6 - eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired
- 1 - unbaked 9 inch pie shell with high fluted edge
How To Make custard pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.

Step 2In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust. Spinkle top with a little bit of nutmeg.

Step 3Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set. Knife inserted near center comes out clean.
