crustless apple pie

I found this recipe in an old cookbook that I had purchased in Peterman Alabama at the annual Peterman Station festival that is held every year. My father was from that area but later moved to Mobile. I was thinking that I just may find some of his relatives in the cookbook so I purchased it. I had some apples that I really needed to use so I found this recipe in that cookbook. I made a few changes here and there but it turned out so good. It was just right for this cold, rainy January Sunday afternoon. It is a keeper and I will make it for my grandchildren.
