crust for chess pie

Some people may want to use this recipe for their Chess Pie. I saw this with the Chess Pie Recipes in my recipe book. I have not tried it yet but next time I will, It sounds good & easy.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3-4 tablespoons cold water
How To Make crust for chess pie

Step 1Sift the dry ingredients together.

Step 2In a medium size bowl; cut-in the shortening in the flour mixture until mixture resembles course crumbs.

Step 3Add water a tablespoon at a time until dampened. Form into a ball

Step 4Roll out on a lightly floured board or cloth. Place in a 9 inch pie plate. Add chess pie mixture and bake according to pie directions.
