Some people may want to use this recipe for their Chess Pie.
I saw this with the Chess Pie Recipes in my recipe book. I have not tried it yet but next time I will, It sounds good & easy.

1/2 c
corn meal
3/4 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
1/3 c
3-4 Tbsp
cold water

How to Make Crust for Chess Pie


  • 1Sift the dry ingredients together.
  • 2In a medium size bowl; cut-in the shortening in the flour mixture until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  • 3Add water a tablespoon at a time until dampened. Form into a ball
  • 4Roll out on a lightly floured board or cloth.
    Place in a 9 inch pie plate. Add chess pie mixture and bake according to pie directions.
