Ingredients
- 1 - pastry for single crust, 9 inch pie
- PIE FILLING
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 6-7 medium apples, granny smith (6 cups)
- CRUMB TOPPING
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/2 cup butter
- TOPPING
- 1/2 cup pecans, in pieces
- 1/3 cup caramel topping, or more :)
How To Make crunchy caramel apple pie

Step 1Prepare pie crust, set aside. Heat oven to 375*.Sift together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Add apples and toss to coat. Pour into pie shell. set aside for aminute to prepare your crumb coating.

Step 2Mix together the brown sugar,oats,1/2 cup of flour. cut in the butter till mix is crumbly. pour over apple mixture.

Step 3Cover the edges with foil. Bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 25-30 minutes more, or until top is a nice golden brown. Remove from oven. sprinkle with chopped pecans and then drizzle caramel topping. Cool on wire rack. Great served warm with ice cream. OMGosh, Im hungry again. :) xoxo
