How to Make Croustillant Aux Pommes (Apple Crisp)
- 1Place apple slices in the bottom of a greased square pan. Sprinkle apple with sugar.
- 2In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar and salt. Mix in butter with fingers or pastry blender.
- 3Cover apple with this mixture and bake in a 350F oven for about 30 minutes until crumbly mixture is golden in color.
- 4There are no spices such as nutmeg or cinnamon in this dessert. Many Quebecers prefer their apple desserts without spices.
A good pinch of cinnamon can be added to the flour if you prefer spicy apple desserts.
