crispy pie crust individual pie cups!
I love pie crust, but don't like soggy pie crust... So this is what I like to do to solve that problem! It is a Win Win Win! Pretty, unusual, and so good! My grandchilden love to help make these with me, it is easy and fun for all of us. We made these for a party last year using several sizes and styles of glass dishes, they were a big hit! Such a great way to serve pie or savory pot pies, make this ahead of time, and just place them on the banquet table or at individual place settings! Make and bake extra strips for dipping! A real conversation piece! Play with your food

How To Make crispy pie crust individual pie cups!
-
Step 1Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
-
Step 2Roll out your pizza crust, but not too thin as it will break apart too easily.
-
Step 3Useing a pizza cutter or decorative cutting wheel, make strips of crust to desired size.
-
Step 4I usually make several cuts across and one down the middle0. Trim the ends of the strips to make them neat.
-
Step 5Place four strips together in a basket weave design. Touch each intersection of dough with a dot of water to use as a "glue", gently press down on the intersections of the dough to help seal it together.
-
Step 6Place in the oven and bake for 5 - 7 minutes.
-
Step 7Remove from oven. Sprinkle with sugar. Return to oven and bake 1 - 2 minutes longer.
-
Step 8Remove from oven and let cool completely.
-
Step 9Put desired pie filling into dishes and add one or two of the woven pie crust grids on top of each glass dish. I have used home made fillings and store bought... both are good. For a pumkin "pie", I use pumkin pie filling, sugar and spices mixed with Cool Whip and put in the dishes... it does not have eggs and it is good.
-
Step 10I make these using various sizes of dishes for large parties. I also use different flavors of pie fillings.
