connie's strawberry pie
Bought two pints of really large strawberries and started to experiment. This recipe turned out pretty darn good, if I say so myself. Even though I tried to cut down on the sugar, I ended up adding whipped cream at the end. Just seemed a sin not too:) Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 pints fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup splenda
- 1/4 cup sugar
- - zest of one orange
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 - pie crust shell
- 1/4 cup additional sugar
- 1 pinch salt
How To Make connie's strawberry pie

Step 1Slice 1/2 pint of strawberries into a bowl.

Step 2Mash strawberries.

Step 3Make pie crust or use store bought.

Step 4Fork the bottom of the pie crust before baking.

Step 5Bake pie crust as usual and let pie cool completed before filling.

Step 6Add orange zest, cinnamon, corn starch and salt to mashed strawberries.

Step 7Slice rest of strawberries.

Step 8Add additional 1/4 cup sugar to sliced strawberries.

Step 9Pour strawberry mixture over top of sliced strawberries.

Step 10Refrigerate several hours.
