i always take this pie to our thanksgiving & christmas dinners.
everyone loves it.

  • 1/4 c

    can milk

  • 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp

How to Make coconut cream pie


  1. combine sugar ,cornstarch,salt in saucepan
    gradually add milk & cook until thick & bubbly
  2. reduce heat, beat yolks & stir in about 1 cup of hot mixture in to yolks ,
    return to saucepan & bring to a boil, cook 2 minutes more.
  3. remove from heat & stir in margarine & vanilla & coconut.pour into baked pie shells. top with meringue
    & sprinkle with coconut .
    bake at 400 until meringue is light brown.
    makes 2 deep dish pies
  4. you can also make chocolate or banana cream with this recipe. add 3 tbs cocoa or 2 bananas sliced.
