i always take this pie to our thanksgiving & christmas dinners. everyone loves it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 4 cups can milk
- 6 - eggs
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make coconut cream pie

Step 1combine sugar ,cornstarch,salt in saucepan gradually add milk & cook until thick & bubbly

Step 2reduce heat, beat yolks & stir in about 1 cup of hot mixture in to yolks , return to saucepan & bring to a boil, cook 2 minutes more.

Step 3remove from heat & stir in margarine & vanilla & coconut.pour into baked pie shells. top with meringue & sprinkle with coconut . bake at 400 until meringue is light brown. makes 2 deep dish pies

Step 4you can also make chocolate or banana cream with this recipe. add 3 tbs cocoa or 2 bananas sliced.
