How to Make coconut cream pie
- combine sugar ,cornstarch,salt in saucepan
gradually add milk & cook until thick & bubbly
- reduce heat, beat yolks & stir in about 1 cup of hot mixture in to yolks ,
return to saucepan & bring to a boil, cook 2 minutes more.
- remove from heat & stir in margarine & vanilla & coconut.pour into baked pie shells. top with meringue
& sprinkle with coconut .
bake at 400 until meringue is light brown.
makes 2 deep dish pies
- you can also make chocolate or banana cream with this recipe. add 3 tbs cocoa or 2 bananas sliced.
