This is from my grandmother's favorite cook book. Every chocolate lover will LOVE this pie. My uncle demands it every year for his birthday!

  • 1/4 c
    hershey's cocoa
  • 3/4 c
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 8 inch
    baked pie shell
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 tsp

How to Make Cocoa Cream Pie


  1. Mis cocoa, 3/4 cup sugar,cornstarch, and salt in a sauce pan. Gradually stir in milk mix until smooth. Mix until it thickens. Boil 1 minute. Stir half chocolate mix in to beaten egg yolks. Blend into hot mixture in pan. Boil 1 minute then remove from heat. Then, blend butter and vanilla. Pour in to baked pie shell.
  2. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar gradually. Beat until stiff peaks hold. Flavor with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, Pile onto Chocolate mixture.
  3. Bake until foam tips are golden brown. 8 to 10 minutes.
