classic pecan pie

This is an old, old recipe that is tried and true for pecan pie. Before my children were born I was always trying out different recipes and see what was working and what was not. So by the time the children arrived on the scene, I had all these great recipes I had collected. Now you will love this one, great for the holidays or anytime.

Ingredients

  • 3 - eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup karo light or dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted (my favorite is blue bonnet)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 1 - unbaked 9-inch pie crust

How To Make classic pecan pie

  • Step 1
    In large bowl combine first 5 ingredients until well-blended.
  • Step 2
    Stir in pecans. Pour into pie crust.
  • Step 3
    Bake in 350 degree oven 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool.
  • Step 4
    For frozen crust, preheat oven and cookie sheet. Pour filling into frozen crust, bake on cookie sheet in lower third of oven.
