classic karo pecan pie

This is an old recipe, think it was on the label of a Karo syrup bottle. My nephew, Ricky, wanted pecan pie for his birthday instead of a cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup karo light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 - frozen pie crust

How To Make classic karo pecan pie

  • Step 1
    Cream the sugar and the butter. Beat the eggs in by hand.
  • Step 2
    Add syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Step 3
    Pour into pie crust. Bake for 20 minutes in preheated 425 degree oven. Reduce heat to 325 and bake until pie is firm, about 40 minutes.
