I love making this crust, it is so pretty! and if you use a store bought refrigerated pie crust it is super easy. This time I was making Just a pinch member Rhonda Gibsons Glazed apple cream pie, which calls for a glaze after baking, it is a fantastic pie!! The glaze was the perfect touch for this crust, I found this recipe in a magazine at the Dr's office about 2 yrs ago. all pictures are mine

Ingredients For cinnamon bun pie crust

  • clear glass pie plate
  • store bought pie crust, i used both crusts for the bottom of this pie because i ws pressing them in if you want a thinner bottom crust you can use only one crust and roll it as i do for the top
  • 1/4 c
    melted butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    cinnamon or to taste

How To Make cinnamon bun pie crust

  • Roll out crust and brush lightly with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon

    Roll out pie dough, brush lightly with melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon over the entire surface

    Roll the crust into a log and slice thinly.
  • carefully press each slice into pie plate making sure you pinch close any openings, if you want a thinner crust you can follow the method I use for the top crust

    Press into pie plate
  • for a top crust, I arranged the cinnamon circles on top of waxed paper, topped with another sheet and rolled carefully, after rolling I lightly pinched together any openings and  just lifted the crust over to the pie and flipped it.

    If making a top crust arrange the sliced dough onto wax paper shape into a circle (as much as possible) top with another sheet of wax paper and roll lightly. remove the top paper, pinch together any open areas and lift the wax paper over to the pie plate and flip carefully peeling of paper
