These are absolutely the best pies I guess I've ever tasted except a chocolate and coconut. I used to make these every Christmas and my aunt and uncle loved them so much I always made 1 for everyone and my uncle loved it so much, I would make him one to eat all by himself.

Ingredients

  • 1 can pie cherries (not drained), dark, sweet and pitted
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (small, not drained)
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 - bananas
  • 1 package orange jello (small)
  • - red food coloring drops
  • 1 pint real whipping cream
  • 2 - 9" - 10" pie crusts, baked

How To Make christmas fruit pies

  • Step 1
    In a medium sauce pan, mix together, cherries, crushed pineapple, sugar, flour & food coloring----cook until thick----let cool. Add 1 box orange jello, cut-up bananas & pecans. Let all of this cool. I set it in the fridge to cool.
  • Step 2
    Pour into baked pie crusts and top each pie with whipping cream. Keep in fridge.
  • Step 3
    I use real whipping cream...pour it into a bowl and beat with electric mixer until thick...add a little sugar and taste and see if it's sweet enough.
