I have several different ways to make Chocolate Pie, and this happens to be on of my favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    cocoa
  • 2 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 stick
    margarine
  • 4 c
    milk
  • 5 large
    egg yolks
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • MERINGUE

  • 5 large
    egg whites
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Chocolate Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook over low heat (stirring) just until thick and spoon leaves a trail when taken from filling. Pour into 2 deep dish pie shells.
  2. Make a meringue from the ingredients and spread on pies.
  3. Brown in oven until golden brown.
