THIS IS MY MOTHER IN LAW'S RECIPE AND EVERY HOLIDAY SHE WOULD ALWAYS MAKE 2 CHOCOLATE PIES, LEMON AND PECAN. THE CHOCOLATE WAS ALWAYS THE ONE WE FINISHED OFF FIRST. IT HAS SUCH A RICH CHOCOLATE FLAVOR TO IT. I HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS IT JUST AS MUCH AS ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAS.

How to Make CHOCOLATE PIE

SIFT TOGETHER IN A POT 3 CUPS SUGAR, 1 CUP FLOUR AND 1 CUP HERSHEY'S COCOA AND 1/4 TSP SALT
  2. BEAT TOGETHER 1 1/4 CUPS OF MILK AND 4 EGGS ADD TO POT AND MIX WELL. THEN ADD 4 1/2 CUPS MILK STIR AND COOK ON MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL THICK
  3. AFTER PUDDING IS COOKED ADD 1/2 STICK OF BUTTER AND 2 TEASPOONS OF VANILLA AND STIR WELL.
  4. IF YOU PUT A PIECE OF PLASTIC WRAP DIRECTLY ON TO THE PUDDING IT WILL NOT LEAVE A FILM ON THE TOP OF YOUR PUDDING.
  5. REMOVE POT FROM STOVE AND PLACE IT CAREFULLY IN A SINK OF ICE WATER FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES AND IT WILL CUT YOUR COOLING TIME IN HALF.
  6. WHEN PUDDING IS COMPLETELY COOLED POUR INTO COOKED PIE SHELL
  7. PLACE WHIPPING CREAM IN A BOWL ADD 1 TO 2 TABLESPOONS OF SUGAR AND WHIP UNTIL THICK. SPREAD ON TOP OF PIE.
