mom found this recipe right after she married dad..as a farm girl she had never seen a pecan pie and so she didn't know how it would look . she made it and thought she had really messed it up so hide it in the back of the icebox and my aunt who was a cook by trade came over that night to have dinner and wanted to know what was for dessert and mom told her nothing but my aunt found this pie in ice box and ask why mom was hiding it and mom had thought she messed it up because the nuts were on top and when she mixed it the nuts were on the bottom..my aunt laughed and said it was very good.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 cup pecans, halved
  • 1 cup corn syrup, light
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ounces (1/2 squares) 1 oz squares baker chocolate

How To Make chocolate pecan pie

  • Step 1
    melt butter, chocolate together in double boiler..
  • Step 2
    add all ingredents except pecans
  • Step 3
    beat well.....add pecans
  • Step 4
    pour into a uncooked pie shell.. bake 50-60 minutes at 350F.....serve with whipped topping .
