Ingredients

  • 2 oz
    chocolate, unsweetened squares
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1
    14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 3
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1-2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1
    unbaked pastry for a 10-inch pie shell, or 2 (8-inch) pie shells
  • ·
    pecans (halved or coarsely chopped)

How to Make chocolate pecan pie

Step-by-Step

  1. melt chocolate with butter in saucepan
  2. combine condensed milk, sugar and salt, stir in eggs. add chocolate mixture and beat well
  3. stir in vanilla
  4. pour into unbaked pie shell which has been covered with pecans.
  5. bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees.
  6. reduce heat to 300 degrees, and bake 45 minutes.
  7. store in refrigerator.
