I actually think this is a Paula Deen recipe, she is my favorite! I made this pie for Thanksgiving with many turned up noses when i said what it was. One small taste from everyone turned into a pie that disappeared in minutes. Now everyone begs me to make them one for all family functions.

Ingredients
- 1 - 9 in pie crust.. (i just bought one in the frozen section)
- 2 cups pecans, halved
- 3 large eggs,beaten
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons good quality bourbon (i just used jim beam)
- 3 ounces semi -sweet chocolate chopped ( chocolate chips are fine)

Step 1preheat oven 375

Step 2Cover bottom of pie shell with pecans. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and melted butter. Add the corn syrup,sugar,bourbon and chopped chocolate. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Pour mixture in pieshell over pecans and place on a heavy duty cookie sheet.Bake for 10 minutes. Then lower temp on oven to 350 and continue to bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
