This is really delicious. This has become my "go to" recipe for a pecan pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 - ready made pie crust (for 2-crust pie)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light karo
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

How To Make chocolate pecan pie

  • Step 1
    Place one crust in pie dish and chill until ready to fill. Make lattice with other crust on parchment paper and chill.
  • Step 2
    Melt the chocolate with the butter and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Combine sugar and Karo until dissolved; bring to a boil and simmer for two minutes.
  • Step 4
    Beat eggs well and stir in the chocolate-butter mixture; add sugar-Karo mixture and blend thoroughly.
  • Step 5
    Stir in the vanilla and chopped pecans and then set aside cool completely.
  • Step 6
    Pour batter into pie crust, place lattice on top and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Step 7
    Cool completely before serving.
