Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups boiling water
How To Make chocolate cobbler

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a 9x13 glass baking dish, melt the 8 Tbsp of butter in the oven for 5 minutes.

Step 2In a bowl, mix 1 1/4 c sugar, self-rising flour, vanilla extract, and milk.

Step 3Once the butter is melted, pour the batter over the butter. Do not stir.

Step 4In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa and the remaining granulated sugar.

Step 5Sprinkle the cocoa/sugar mixture on top of the batter. Do not stir.

Step 6Pour the 2 cups of boiling water on top of that. Do not stir.

Step 7Bake for 40 - 45 minutes. I bake mine until it has a golden brown crust.

Step 8Serve warm with ice cream.
