This makes (2) 9inch pies. These are basically big chcolate chip cookies, a bit softer in the center and crunchy on the outside. The kids always love these. Especially served warm with ice cream and some chocolate syrup.

Ingredients
- PIE
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 - large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
- WHIPPED CREAM
- 2 pints heavy cream (4 cups)
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup minature chocolate chips
How To Make chocolate chip pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Grease two 9 inch pie plates and set aside.

Step 2In bowl sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In bowl with electric mixer, cream butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating until incorporated. Beat in the vanilla. Add flour mixture a little at a time until fully combined. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if desired. Divide between 2 pie plates and smooth top with spatula.

Step 3Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown and slightly firm to the touch, but still soft. If pies begin to brown to much cover with foil and continue baking. Let Pies cool on wire rack.

Step 4While pies cool. Whip the cream until soft peaks form (tip curls). Add confectioner sugar and whip until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Refrigerate cream until ready to serve. Spread over pies and serve.
