I started making this pie several years ago for a change from the "gooey-sweet" pecan pies we always had. We really do like this recipe a lot. It has quickly become a favorite of all, and it is very easy to make!

  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    flaked coconut
  • 3/4 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell

How to Make Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, eggs and butter in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Fold in coconut, pecans, and chocolate chips
  4. Pour into pie shell and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until firm.
  5. I like to cover the edges of the pie crust with strips of aluminum foil for about the first half of the baking time, so that they don't over cook.
