I started making this pie several years ago for a change from the "gooey-sweet" pecan pies we always had. We really do like this recipe a lot. It has quickly become a favorite of all, and it is very easy to make!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 - unbaked pie shell
How To Make chocolate chip pecan pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Combine the flour, sugar, eggs and butter in a medium mixing bowl.

Step 3Fold in coconut, pecans, and chocolate chips

Step 4Pour into pie shell and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until firm.

Step 5I like to cover the edges of the pie crust with strips of aluminum foil for about the first half of the baking time, so that they don't over cook.
