Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie

I started making this pie several years ago for a change from the "gooey-sweet" pecan pies we always had. We really do like this recipe a lot. It has quickly become a favorite of all, and it is very easy to make!

1/2 c
1 c
granulated sugar
eggs, beaten
1 stick
butter, melted
1/2 c
flaked coconut
3/4 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
unbaked pie shell


1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2Combine the flour, sugar, eggs and butter in a medium mixing bowl.
3Fold in coconut, pecans, and chocolate chips
4Pour into pie shell and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until firm.
5I like to cover the edges of the pie crust with strips of aluminum foil for about the first half of the baking time, so that they don't over cook.
