I started making this pie several years ago for a change from the "gooey-sweet" pecan pies we always had. We really do like this recipe a lot. It has quickly become a favorite of all, and it is very easy to make!

1/2 c
1 c
granulated sugar
eggs, beaten
1 stick
butter, melted
1/2 c
flaked coconut
3/4 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
unbaked pie shell

How to Make Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Combine the flour, sugar, eggs and butter in a medium mixing bowl.
  • 3Fold in coconut, pecans, and chocolate chips
  • 4Pour into pie shell and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until firm.
  • 5I like to cover the edges of the pie crust with strips of aluminum foil for about the first half of the baking time, so that they don't over cook.
