The original recipe says to bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F, but I usually have to bake it longer. It's done when you can jiggle it a little and it's somewhat solid.

Just like hot chocolate topping in a solid form. Heavenly!

How to Make Chocolate Chess Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt butter.
  • 2combine dry ingredients.
  • 3Mix butter into dry ingredients (some say slowly, I find that the butter is greasy enough to prevent clumping)
  • 4Add eggs, evaporated milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • 5Pour into pastry.
