CHERRY TURNOVERS...... "SNOW on the MOUNTAIN"
Nancy J. Patrykus
Gail Herbest's moon shaped recipe..
"Pie in the sky tarts."
(I used apple pie filling.)
Be warned.....They were so good ..they disappeared overnight!
You can see my pictures on her site.
Today I had to make more...so this is my revised triangle recipe...with cherry pie filling.
They can be frozen individually...
if they last that long!
How to Make CHERRY TURNOVERS...... "SNOW on the MOUNTAIN"
- Pat out to form a disc 3/4 inch deep.
Wrap in saran and chill a couple hours, or over night.
When you are ready roll out the dough as thin as workable, then cut into 5 inch squares. Brush beaten egg yolk with a couple drops of wares and brush on the top of triangles.
Put on your baking sheet.
Add 1 teaspoon of cherries to the center of the square.
Brush some water along two sides of the square.
Turn 1/2 of square over to form a triangle.
Press and seal to the water edges with a fork.
