How to Make Cherry Creme Pie
- In saucepan combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt. Gradually add milk and mix until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat until very thick.
- Blend a little of the hot mixture into the slightly beaten egg yolks and add to the rest of the hot mixture. Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Cover and chill.
- Beat whipping cream. Add vanilla to chilled mixture and beat until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.
- Put whipped filling in pie shell and cover with cherry pie filling. Garnish with whipped cream if desired. Keep refrigerated.
