Another recipe from my friend Debbie. She said it was a favorite of her family.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • FILLING:
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • - dash salt
  • 5 cups tart apples, sliced
  • STREUSEL TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

How To Make cheese apple pie

  • Step 1
    CRUST: Cut shortening into flour. Add other ingredients; press into a ball. Roll to fit in a 9 inch pan.
  • Step 2
    FILLING: Mix together all ingredients and put into unbaked pie crust.
  • Step 3
    STREUSAL TOPPING: Combine sugar, flour, and salt. Cut in butter and cheese; sprinkle over apples. Bake at 435 degrees for 30 -35 minutes.
