Ingredients
- PASTRY
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 - egg
- APPLE FILLING
- 6 cups granny smith apples, chopped and peeled
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- CARAMEL SAUCE
- 1-8oz package caramels
- 1/2 cup half and half
- TOPPING
- 1-8oz package cream cheese
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/3 cup walnuts (optional)
How To Make caramel apple pie

Step 1Preheat oven t 350 In a large bowl, combine four, sugar, and salt. Cut butter into flour mixture until fine cumbs form. In a small bowl, combine oil, egg, and water, beat until smooth and creamy. Slowly add wet mixture to dry mixture. Blend together until dough is smooth. Press dough into a 10 inch deep pie plate. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, lemon juice and cinnamon and todd lightly. Spoon into crust. In a small saucepan combine caramels and half and half. Cook over low heat until smooth. Spoon caramel over apples. In a medium size saucepan combine cream cheese, sugar and egg. Cook on low heat until melted and smooth. Spoon over caramel apple mixture. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
