Ingredients
- 6 medium yams
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup syrup or molasses
- - marshmallows (optional)
- 2 cups chopped nuts, toasted (optional)
How To Make candied yams

Step 1Boil yams, DO NOT BREAK THE SKIN! Then peel and cut into quarters or cubes.

Step 2Place yams in shallow, buttered pan (13x9"). Pour syrup/molasses over yams, add nuts if desired and dot with butter.

Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Step 4If using marshmallows: pull out of oven after about 20 minutes and add marshmallows, then replace in oven for 5 to 10 minutes more, or until marshmallows are golden around their edges.
