This recipe is one that is used at The Blue Willow Inn in my hometown of Social Circle, GA. It's a big hit there!

Ingredients For buttermilk pie

  • 3
    eggs,slightly beaten
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter/margarine
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 1
    9-inch pie shell

How To Make buttermilk pie

  • 1
    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    In a bowl combine eggs, sugar, flour & butter and mix well
  • 3
    Add buttermilk, vanilla & lemon extract & mix well
  • 4
    pour into pie shell & place in the oven
  • 5
    Bake for 45-50 minutes until the pie sets & is golden brown.
