This is one of my most requested pie recipes, especially around Thanksgiving. I've had the recipe so long I don't even remember where I got it from. :)

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter/margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Dash - nutmeg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 - unbaked 9" pie shell

How To Make buttermilk pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In mixing bowl, cream together butter/margarine and sugar. Beat at medium speed till light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step 2
    Add the flour and nutmeg; beat at low speed until blended. Add the buttermilk and beat well until smooth. Pour into the pie shell.
  • Step 3
    Bake for 55 minutes or till knife inserted near center of pie comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting.
