Now this is what I call comfort food! It's just the thing you need on a cold winter's night. The kitchen always smells wonderful and draws you near when this is baking in the oven. And you'll probably find someone else besides your self waiting for this to come out of the oven!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 3 - eggs well beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla, salt or lemon juice optional
- IF YOUR MIXTURE CURDLES IT'S OKAY!
How To Make buttermilk pie

Step 1Mix all ingredients in the mixer until light and well blended. Pour into Pie shell and grate nutmeg over the top of the filling.

Step 2Bake on 350 until tooth pick comes out clean and center springs back. Serve warm or cold!

Step 3I use the Amish Pie Crust recipe that I posted on here for this pie due to its tenderness, lightness and flavor!
