buttermilk pie
This is a Southern favorite. It is a custard pie. There are many variations of this pie and most are very good. This is my family favorite. I use my own pie crust recipe as I don't like store bought.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 - eggs
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
How To Make buttermilk pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Mix sugar and flour together. Beat eggs well and add to dry mix. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.

Step 3Add butter and buttermilk and mix on high for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice and vanilla extract.

Step 4Pour mixture into unbaked pie crust. Bake until golden, 55 minutes to 1 hour. Pie will look jiggly when removed. But, will firm as it cools.
