corn meal
1/4 tsp
salt
2/3 c
buttermilk
5 large
eggs lightly beaten
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 c
butter or margrine melted

9 inch unbaked pie crust

How to Make Buttermilk Chess Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven 350 F.
    Combine sugar,flour,corn meal, and salt in a large bowl.
  • 2Add butter milk and eggs stirring until blended. Stir in vanilla and butter.
  • 3Pour into the pie crust and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until set. Check for doneness after the 40 minutes by gently shaking the pie. Center should be set with a slight jiggle.
