This is another recipe from my Aunt Thelma.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound oreo cookies, crushed (about 20 cookies)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 package large, instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1 package knox gelatin dissolved in 2 tablespoons cool water
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract

How To Make butterfly chocolate mint pie

  • Step 1
    Mix oreo cookies and melted butter, and pat into a 9 inch pie pan. Then mix filling ingredients together, and pour into crust. Just before serving, whip cream sugar and mint extract and pile on pie with mint sprigs and butterflies.
  • Step 2
    To make butterflies - draw 1 wing on cardboard, tracing 10 on waxed paper, some both ways. Pour melted chocolate over drawings. Now fold wax paper several times and fold into an "M" lay a pair of wings pulled off paper on slant. Pour more chocolate for a body.
