butter tarts

My old friend Tia's mother made these and was kind enough to share her recipe with me. She is from Canada and I believe them to be the canadian version of pecan tarts.

Ingredients
- 6 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound butter or lard (i like the buttery taste)
- 1 - egg
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- FILLING
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
How To Make butter tarts

Step 1Cut butter into flour until crumbly. Put 1 egg, vinegar in a 1 cup measuring cup and fill to 1 cup with warer. Pour mixture into flour mixture and mix into dough. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into 4 inch circles. Place in cupcake tins.

Step 2Mix all the ingredients for the filling plus 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 cup finely crushed walnuts. Pour into pie shells.

Step 3Bake at 375 until brown. Let cool and remove from tins.
