I first had these at my crochet group meeting the woman that brought them in said the recipe had been in her family for years and that her mother made them for her when she was young and that this was her comfort food growing up.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 - eggs
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- - pie pastry to line tart tins
How To Make butter tarts

Step 1Cream the butter; add sugar and mix thoroughly.

Step 2Add eggs, well beaten, raisins and vanilla mix thoroughly.

Step 3Line tart tins with pastry. Fill with mixture.

Step 4Bake at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes.
