Ingredients
- 1 1/8 teaspoons gelatin, unflavored
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2/3 cup milk
- 3 - egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups whipping cream, whipped
- 1 - (9-inch) pie shell baked
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
How To Make homemade eggnog pie

Step 1In a small bowl - soften gelatin in cold water; set aside

Step 2In a sauce pan - combine sugar and cornstarch

Step 3Gradually stir in milk until smooth

Step 4Bring to a boil

Step 5Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened

Step 6Remove from heat

Step 7Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks

Step 8Return all to the pan

Step 9Bring to a gentle boil; stirring constantly

Step 10Remove from the heat

Step 11Stir in gelatin and vanilla

Step 12Cool to room temperature; stirring occasionally

Step 13Fold in whip cream

Step 14Pour into pie shell

Step 15Sprinkle with nutmeg

Step 16Refrigerate until set; about 2 hours or overnight
