Ingredients

  • 4 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 - 9 inch baked pie shell
  • - whipped topping or vanilla ice cream

How To Make blueberry pie

  • Step 1
    Wash and drain blueberries.
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, 1 cup of the blueberries, cornstarch (use heaping tablespoons with frozen berries), salt, water, cinnamon and lemon juice.
  • Step 3
    Cook and stir over medium heat until thick.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat.
  • Step 5
    Immediately add butter and remaining berries.
  • Step 6
    Stir until sauce is mixed with all of the berries and margarine is melted.
  • Step 7
    Pour mixture into prepared pie shell.
  • Step 8
    Keep refrigerated until serving time.
  • Step 9
    Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.
