blapple pie

Updated on Feb 27, 2026

I adopted a plain green apple pie from this site, added my own special touches and spices, and came up with this. I used Maine wild blueberries that are prevalent this time of year. They are small, so if you use regular blueberries, you may want to use only one cup. Also, if the type of apples that you choose is known for being juicy, add a little extra flour.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Three cheers for creativity! Blueberries and tart Granny Smith apples make sweet music together in this clever apple pie. The blend of spices adds warm flavor to the filling and will fill your house with an amazing aroma. With a buttery, flaky, crispy crust, top a slice with your favorite vanilla ice cream for a delicious piece of pie. Red, white, and blue, this pie would make a festive 4th of July dessert, along with being great as part of a holiday spread.
