Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh picked blackberries (or other)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 stick real butter
- 2 tablespoons crisco
- 2 cups ap flour (i use king arthur)
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup ice water
How To Make blackberry cobbler (iron skillet)

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Pour washed berries into skillet. Add water, sugar & half of butter cut in cubes.(my berries were very sweet, taste to see if more sugar needed).Begin dough with flour,crisco,salt and bkg. pwdr.add amt of "ice water" gradually to make stiff dough.(not much).Roll out on floured surface to size that will cover top of skillet surface. Cut remaining butter in cubes over top.Sprinkle light dusting of sugar over crust.Bake for 1 hr. I used 10" iron skillet.
