This version of the Southern favorite was passed down through my father's side of the family. it's a favorite at Thanksgiving, or whenever the extended family gets together.

Ingredients

  • 5
    eggs
  • 2 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    evaporated milk
  • 2 stick
    butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    unbaked pie shells

How to Make BIG MOTHER'S CHESS PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Beat eggs well.
  3. Add sugar, flour, cornmeal, vinegar, evaporated milk, melted butter and vanilla. Continue beating as each ingredient is added.
  4. Pour into unbaked pie shells.
  5. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350.
