Ingredients

4 c
flour
1 Tbsp
sugar
2 tsp
salt
1 3/4 c
cold shortening
1/2 c
cold water
1 medium
egg
1 Tbsp
vinegar

FILLING

8 c
fresh or frozen blackberries or raspberries
2 c
sugar
1/2 c
flour

How to Make Big Berry Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine flour sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add wet ingredients. Stir just till moistened. Form into a roll refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • 2On a floured surface, roll two-thirds of dough into an 18"x14" rectangle. Carefully place in 9x13 glass baking dish. Covers bottom and up sides.
  • 3Combine berries, sugar and flour. Pour into crust.

    Use the remaining dough to make lattice strips. Place over filling. (Can brush with milk or cream)
  • 4Bake @ 400° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° Bake 1 hour or until bubbly and browned nicely. Cool.
