This is the way I make my crust. It has been dubbed the BEST crust people have ever tasted!

yield 1 double crust pie

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup lard
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4-5 tablespoons really cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make basic pie crust

  • Step 1
    Put lard, flour and salt in a food processor.
  • Step 2
    Pulse, pulse, pulse and pulse until the mixture it like cornmeal.
  • Step 3
    Open processor and add 4T of the water over all ingredients.
  • Step 4
    Pulse, pulse and pulse. If it is starting to ball up go ahead and run the processor until the ball is together and rolls around the bowl a few times. If not. add the other T of water and pulse...etc.
  • Step 5
    Divide into 2 semi-equal balls, wrap in plastic and refrigerate until ready to roll out.
